Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 24 June 2026
1. Agreement
These terms apply when you use LINX (playlinx.app) — the website, the daily puzzles, and any optional account features. Other LINX ecosystem products (such as NOOX at mynoox.app) have their own sites; when you use them, their terms and privacy sections apply in addition to this document where referenced. By playing, you agree to them. If you create an account (including by signing in with Google or an email magic link), you also agree to these terms and to the contact described in section 4. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or create an account. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle data and forms part of these terms.
2. The service
LINX is a free, daily word-game service: word-chain puzzles and related modes (such as Hunt and Morph), streaks, stats, badges, and sharing features. We may add, change, retire, or rebalance puzzles, modes, badges, titles, and features at any time. Daily content rotates on a schedule we control.
3. Accounts
- You do not need an account to play. If you create one (e.g. by signing in with Google or an email magic link), you must provide accurate information and keep access to your sign-in email secure.
- Accounts are for personal, non-commercial use. One person per account. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You may stop using your account at any time and can ask us to delete it (see Contact). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or abuse the service, and may remove inactive accounts after reasonable notice.
- By creating an account, you agree that we may contact you at your sign-in email address as described in section 4.
- LINX ecosystem. One LINX account (Google or email magic link) can be used across LINX products that offer sign-in — e.g. game stats on playlinx.app and optional cloud backup on mynoox.app. Each product stores its own data; using the same sign-in method gives you one identity, not automatic cross-site sessions. You are responsible for sign-in on each product you use.
4. Email and other contact
When you create an account, you agree that we may send messages to the email address linked to your account (including the address provided by Google when you sign in with Google). These messages are part of operating your account and the LINX service.
They may include:
- Account and security — sign-in links (if you use email magic link), confirmations, and notices about your account or saved stats;
- Game and service updates — notifications about LINX content and features relevant to the service, such as new daily puzzles, new Search boards, streak or standing updates, changes to modes you play, or important service announcements;
- Responses to you — replies if you contact us (for example about privacy or account deletion).
We send these at a reasonable frequency. We do not sell or rent your email address to third parties for their marketing.
You can opt out of non-essential game and service emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email, your account settings when available, or by emailing contact@playlinx.app. Opting out of promotional or reminder emails does not affect essential account or security messages we must send to run your account. See our Privacy policy for how we use your email and your rights.
5. Fair play & acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attack, overload, scrape, or disrupt the service or its APIs;
- use bots or automation to play, farm streaks/badges, or skew leaderboard-style stats;
- attempt to access other players' data or non-public parts of the system;
- use the service for anything unlawful.
Streaks, badges, titles, and comparative stats are for fun. We may recalculate or reset them (e.g. to fix bugs or abuse) without liability.
6. Your content
If you submit content to us (for example suggested word chains, feedback, or ratings), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, adapt, and publish it as part of operating and improving LINX, without obligation to credit or compensate. Don't submit anything you don't have the right to share.
7. Our content
The LINX name, puzzles, chains, design, and code are owned by us or our licensors. You may share screenshots and the share cards the game generates. You may not copy the puzzle database, republish daily content as your own, or use our branding to suggest affiliation without permission.
8. Availability & changes
LINX is provided free and "as is". We aim for it to be available daily, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may modify or discontinue the service (in whole or part) at any time. Local browser data — including stats not saved to an account — can be lost if you clear your browser or switch devices; we are not responsible for that loss.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or lost enjoyment arising from use of a free game. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (e.g. for fraud).
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — though if you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep any mandatory protections of your local law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be flagged in the app where practical. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Contact
Questions about these terms: contact@playlinx.app. If that address is not yet active, use any contact email published on playlinx.app.
12. NOOX (personal organizer)
NOOX by LINX (mynoox.app) is a separate product in the LINX ecosystem — a personal organizer, not hosted at playlinx.app/noox. By using NOOX you agree to this section in addition to the rest of these terms. Visiting old playlinx.app/noox links may redirect you to mynoox.app.
Your content.You keep ownership of what you type into NOOX. You grant us a licence to store, process, and display it only as needed to run NOOX (including optional cloud backup and optional AI features you turn on). You must not store or process content that is unlawful, infringes others' rights, or violates confidentiality you owe to third parties.
Local vs cloud. NOOX is designed to keep data on your device by default. If you sign in and enable cloud sync, you instruct us to store an encrypted-at-rest JSON backup on Supabase tied to your account. Cloud storage carries inherent risks (outages, account compromise, mis-sync). We provide cloud sync as a convenience, not a guaranteed archive.
AI features. If you enable AI routing, text you capture may be sent to third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI) for noox linking and action extraction. Those providers are not controlled by us and may process data under their own terms. AI output can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. You must not rely on NOOX or its AI for medical, legal, financial, safety, or other high-stakes decisions without independent verification.
No professional advice. NOOX is a personal productivity tool, not a therapist, lawyer, accountant, or emergency service. We do not review your content for accuracy or appropriateness.
Availability.NOOX is provided "as is", free of charge, and may change, break, or be withdrawn at any time. Local browser data can be lost if you clear storage or switch devices without cloud sync. We are not liable for lost notes, missed reminders, or incorrect AI suggestions except where liability cannot be excluded by law (see section 9).
Acceptable use. Do not use NOOX to harass, spam, distribute malware, or automate abuse of our APIs. We may rate-limit or suspend access that threatens the service or other users.
Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for what you capture, sync, share, or act on. You confirm you have the right to store and process any personal data about others that you enter, and that your use complies with applicable law.
Privacy details for NOOX are in our Privacy policy (NOOX section).
